Wendy’s Homemade Chili

Makes 12 Servings

2 lbs of ground beef
1 (29 oz) can of tomato sauce
1 (29 oz) can of kidney beans (with liquid)
1 (29 oz) can of pinto beans (with liquid)
1 cup of diced onions
1/2 cup of diced chillies
1/4 cup of diced celery
3 medium chopped tomatoes
2 teaspoons of cumin powder
3 tablespoons of chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoons of black pepper
2 teaspoons of salt
2 cups of water

Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat; drain off the fat. Using a fork, crumble the beef into pea-size pieces.
In a large pot, combine the beef plus all the remaining ingredients, and bring to a simmer over low heat. Cook, stirring every 15 minutes , for 2 to 3 hours.
