Isn’t it just like God to create a way to bring us all together in peace and harmony. Even if just for a little while to help us lay down our bigotry, prejudices, harsh words, weapons and hatred.
He used the sun, moon and a big blue sky (every day objects) to get us to lift our eyes and look upward – to be still and once again behold His handiwork. It reminded me of how it feels Christmas Day when the earth seems to slow it’s spin and the world is quieter except for choirs singing, church bells ringing, and love and laughter as it passes from heart to heart.
I wish we could remain those people we were today – the ones wearing the special glasses that allowed us to focus on something besides ourselves, to see the beauty and feel the wonder of God’s creation and to do it together side by side – young and old, rich and poor, red and yellow, black and white, and all religions too with no regard for political parties!
I believe we’ve just seen a glimpse of how it could be and I pray we will all continue to look up!
From the author:
I am a follower of Christ, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, an employee, a co-worker, a photographer, founder of June Taylor Tie That Binds Children’s Book Drive charity and an ordinary human being, who like everyone else walking on dirt is just passing through. There is nothing special about me that isn’t special about all of us- God created me in His image, gives me each breath, knows the exact number of hairs on my head, but can’t remember a single wrong I’ve ever done, has placed his Holy Spirit inside of me, has numbered my days and filled each one with a sense of awe, childlike wonder, immeasurable joy that never ceases and grace and mercy that covers all my sin.
I am a King’s kid-therefore I am extraordinarily blessed, privileged, forgiven, and saved. I own nothing except by the grace of God and it is my greatest pleasure in life to give, serve others, and live for the day that my faith shall be sight.
