  1. My favorite story as a child is of my brother and I watching my parents from the upstairs putting our presents out and I kept talking in a whisper and he asked me several times to shh but I couldn’t with excitement and he shoved me and I fell down the steps. That was 50 yrs ago.

  2. I have a two and a half year old niece who would love this! The gift card would be donated to a needy child though, she has enough toys, but I’m trying to be a godly influence in her life. She loves Veggie Tales! We saw a movie at church! 🙂 God bless you all for all you do, love you my sisters! <3

  3. The Year We Caught Santa:
    1973
My little brother and I were eagerly awaiting Santa and could not sleep! We heard NOISE from the kitchen and tiptoed out to see- THERE in our kitchen! SANTA!!!! He turned and escaped out the back door and we rushed back to bed. In the morning there was a large package on the kitchen counter and my Mom was so excited, she was sure Santa brought her a new Microwave- my brother and I learned, we scared Santa away before he finished his job and Mom got a radio flyer inch worm instead of a microwave. NEVER snuck out of bed on Christmas Eve again!

  4. I did not have a good childhood, so I don’t have a book in mind, or a story to tell for myself, but one year I took all 5 of my kids to the mall & they wanted a family picture with Santa. That would have been nice, except just as the camera flashed, my 8 month old son ripped the beard off Santa! lol. I didn’t even ask for a retake, I just decided to keep that one for the memory, although I felt bad when I heard a little boy in line say, That’s not the real Santa!

  5. My favorite childhood memory was when my mom would take us to the book mobile to get books every week. All of those books on a bus and different ones each time. If they found out what you liked there was sure to be some of those books on there the next time. She had to find ways to keep us busy while daddy was out to sea. Mom had a love of reading she has passed down to her three daughters, grandkids and now some of her 8 great grandkids are starting to read or being read to.

  6. I loved the book, “The Velveteen Rabbit”. I am a book lover. Shared books with my sons and now my 4 grandchildren….. Thanks for the opportunity! Blessings, Vanessa

  7. I needed to add that the grandchildren and I do prefer the Day by Day Kid’s Bible right now.

  8. My favorite story was the Ginger Bread Man. My grandma would read it to us children as we waited for our ginger bread men to bake in the oven. I still smell ginger bread every time I read that story.

  9. I already “entered” with my favorite story from my childhood but as I was reading through the other comments and sitting today waiting to hear about my little brothers oncology appointment, I was reminded of the hours in doctors offices as a child and those “Bible Stories” for kids they all seemed to have- I loved those!

    1. Dear Barbara,
We drew a name from all who commented and you are the winner of the Just For Kids Christmas Give-away. Please private message your address on our Facebook page and I will mail tomorrow. Congratulations and God Bless you!

  10. The Little Drummer Boy is my favorite story at Christmas time. It is a great reflection of what the true meaning of Christmas is. A little drummer boy is too poor to bring a gift to Our Savior, so instead he plays his drum for him. The Little Drummer Boy gives Our Savior his best from his heart, the true meaning of Christmas.
