Will You Smile For Him Today

by Michelle Welch

“…..Where is your flock-your beautiful flock-that He gave you to care for?”
Jeremiah 13:20

20150628_01Many years ago I owned a petting zoo.  Yes, I know.  That’s quite a stretch from where I am now.  I owned a big drafty hundred year old farm house with 40 acres.  We raised sheep, goats, chickens, cows, and every other assorted kind of farm animal.

On Fire For Him

By Michelle Welch

“They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”
Luke 24:32

Remember when you first became a Christian?

Remember that fire that burned inside you, the one that made you want to share Jesus with everyone?

Perhaps you, like so many of us, have let the fire burn down to smoldering embers, a tiny spark of what it used to be.

“And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.”
Joshua 3:5 (KJV)

20130729_01aToday, while reading Joshua, I came upon the verses where God tells Joshua that the priests must step into the waters of the Jordan River before the flood waters will be stopped. He didn’t say that the priests should go down to the river’s edge and wait for the miracle.

Come As You Are

By Michelle Welch

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

20150225_01

Worry

By Michelle Welch

20150204_01a

“So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.”
Romans 8:26 (AMP)

These days it is so easy to get discouraged.

The Best Teacher

by Michelle Welch

“Choose my instruction rather than silver, and knowledge rather than pure gold. For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies. Nothing you desire can compare with it.”
Proverbs 8:10-11 (NLT)

20150114_01At the beginning of each year we are often encouraged to make some resolutions to become new and improved. The options for making those changes are vast. Switch to a scripture-based diet.
